What is Deloitte’s CORE Leadership Program?

Deloitte CORE Leadership Program

After Deloitte became a part of the White House Joining Forces Initiative in 2013, CORE was created to combat the challenges of employment and retention among U.S. Veterans.

CORE assists transitioning military members to identify their strengths and skills to translate them to the world of business. The program helps veterans shift their mindset to focus on their abilities and encourages them to pursue careers that are a good fit for them.

CORE Timeframe, Location, and Program Details

According to its website, CORE is Deloitte’s flagship program with the purpose to “help transitioning service members and Veterans gain a better understanding of themselves and their career goals to build the skills for a successful transition to the civilian workforce.”

Throughout the course of 2.5 days, in Westlake, Texas, “CORE guides participants through a proven process where they apply their leadership experience, strengths, and interests – in an environment of trust and authenticity – to discover meaning and purpose in their post-military careers.”

Four times a year, Deloitte University welcomes roughly 50 selected transitioning Veterans and service members into the CORE Leadership Program where they learn from Deloitte leaders, volunteer coaches (mostly Veterans), staff, and guest speakers.

Since launching, CORE has helped more than 1,200 transitioning veterans identify their strengths to pursue a career outside of the military.

Keep in mind, CORE is not a hiring event, nor is it a recruiting event. This is one Veteran leadership program that offers the opportunity to grasp a better understanding of yourself while building the skills needed to go from military to business in less than 72 hours.

Some Veterans have given great insight into the program. Check out one Veteran’s unforgettable CORE experience in an article on LinkedIn.
