Military Pathways Direct Hire Program – JP Morgan Chase

What JPMorgan Chase & Co. Offers Veteran Jobseekers
Military Pathways is JPMC’s company-wide program designed to recruit, hire, train, and promote Veterans into leadership positions throughout the organization. Since the firm began this initiative in 2011, they’ve hired more than 16,000 Veterans.
There are two different tracts within JPMC’s Military Pathways program:
1. The Military Pathways Direct-Hire Program
Direct-Hire is a program that was created to fill essential roles at JPMC with top Veteran talent. Candidates selected for this program will receive at least three months of intensive, on-the-job training to ensure a successful transition into the civilian workforce.
In addition, they’ll receive a full year of mentoring and career development coaching from a member of the dedicated Pathways team. Finally, they’ll have unique opportunities to network with senior leadership as well as other Veterans who have benefitted from the Military Pathways program.
The overarching goal of Direct-Hire is to ensure Veterans have the training and support to build successful long-term careers and become effective leaders at JPMC.

2. The Military Pathways Rotational Development Program
JPMC has another program that falls under their Military Pathways umbrella—the Rotational Development Program.
Like the Direct-Hire Program, the Rotational Development Program provides military Veterans with the job-skills training and mentorship to help them transition to civilian life. But there are a few key differences between the two programs.
Veterans who are accepted into Rotational Development will have the opportunity to rotate into two, one-year roles across one of JPMC’s major lines of business including:
- Consumer and Community Banking
- Commercial Banking
- Corporate/Centralized Functions
- Asset and Wealth Management
- Corporate and Investment Banking
In each role they’ll receive intensive coaching, job skills training, networking opportunities, and exposure to senior management.
The Rotational Development Program enables Veterans to work on some of the most important initiatives happening within the company. It’s described as an aggressive and highly selective program specifically designed to identify future JPCM leaders.
After the two-year rotation, participants will be able to start a full-time position within the company.
Veteran Jobs Mission
In addition to the above company-wide programs, JPMC expanded its impact on Veteran employment by becoming a founding member of the Veteran Jobs Mission in 2011.
The coalition began with just 11 partner companies who made a commitment to hire talent from the U.S military community—including Veterans and military spouses.
Today, there are more than 300 companies representing virtually every industry in America, who have joined Veteran Jobs Mission and have made it a top priority to hire Veterans and military spouses. Partner companies include Coca-Cola, CVS Health, Genentech, MetLife, Lowe’s, and General Motors, just to name a few.
To date, the partner companies combined have hired more than 900,000 employees from the U.S. military community, which is almost half of their overall goal of hiring 2 million Veterans and military spouses by 2030.

The Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF)
JPMorgan Chase co-founded the IVMF at Syracuse University, the first national institute in higher education focused on social, economic, education and policy issues impacting Veterans and their family’s post-service.
