• Hill Air Force Base

Hill Air Force Base is a major U.S. Air Force Base located in northern Utah, just south of Ogden. Hill AFB surrounds many towns to include Layton, Clearfield, Riverdale, Roy and Sunset.

This base is the Air Force’s second largest base and it is the largest single employer in the State of Utah.

According to the Hill AFB’s official military about page, Hill AFB houses the 75th Air Base Wing which oversees 1,000,000 acres, more than 1,700 facilities and employs more than 21,000 personnel.

Additionally, the base has support responsibility for the operation of Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR).

• Utah Test and Training Range

Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR), situated NW Utah and Eastern Nevada, is a range and test facility. It’s located roughly 100 miles west of Hill AFB expanding over 2.3 million acres of land.

According to the website, the UTTR offers a vast area of realistic terrain for world-class test and training scenarios to ensure the war fighter is prepared to deploy at a moments’ notice to win any conflict with decisive air and space power.

• Toole Army Depot

Toole Army Depot (TEAD), located in Tooele County, Utah, is an Army base that serves as a storage site for ammunition and equipment.

According to the military mortgage center, the site covers 23,732 acres. While most of the employees are civilian, it is headed by military personnel.
