The US unemployment rate is historically low. Savvy workers are taking advantage of the situation. High demand jobs employers are scrambling to fill their open positions, creating a competitive environment that can benefit active job seekers.

Even better, job outlook remains strong for years to come. LinkedIn has outlined its top 15 emerging jobs, including careers such as Blockchain Developer and Machine Learning Engineer. While these jobs are new and exciting, many existing sectors and career areas offer great opportunities with good pay and a stable outlook for years to come. While education is essential, not all professions in demand we detail require an extensive college education.

High Paying Careers in Demand

Glassdoor utilized their salary data to produce a list of the top 25 jobs based on demand and median base salary; a summary of the results:

  • 4 of the top 25 jobs are in Healthcare; high demand jobs include Pharmacy Manager and Physician Assistant
  • 12 of the top 25 jobs are in Information Technology; high demand professions include Software Engineering Manager and Enterprise Architect
  • Other fields included in the top 25 were Engineering (Plant Manager) and Professional Services (Tax Manager)
  • Top salary ranges were from $96,116 – $195,842

Technology Career Trends

Year over year information technology IT jobs maintains an active foothold in the top lists for fastest-growing or most in-demand jobs.
